About me and my practice
am a qualified, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in Psychosexual Therapy, Sex Addiction Supervision and Therapy as well as providing Individual Therapy and Relationships Therapy.
I have spent many years working with people in the UK and overseas, from different and diverse backgrounds, ages, abilities, sexuality and mental well-being, which includes lone outreach support work for individuals with brain injuries and nursing assistant at the local Hospice. I have also spent two years as a group facilitator for issues surrounding eating disorders.
Alongside my private practice, I used to work at Relate and I am a volunteer at a local hospice.
I believe in the individual and the responses I share are central to what works in therapy. This develops a relational depth, creating a safe environment for treatment which allows people to explore what is bothering them, raising awareness and reflections on life. With support, this invites the freedom to explore many difficulties. My honesty and congruence support and invite exploration as I remain alongside your journey of discovery.

I am working towards accreditations, regularly attending sex addiction supervision, general supervision and continuous professional development.
Experience
experience also comes with continued learning and having being Trustee of ATSAC, STOPSO and other counselling organisations including founding trustee of The Counselling in prisons network. i enjoy regular continuous professional development, and for presentations keeping up to date with research , readings and ultimately work. Its a privileged place to be moreover trusted and respected and i continually reflect back on my early days and how i have developed as a therapist and welcome that ongoing joy of gaining more

Initial Consultation
The first session involves creating together a counselling agreement. This is to help address and anxieties about how therapy works, answers questions and remove doubts. The first session involves me listening to what brings you to therapy, the presenting problem/issue and what you wish to achieve.
With Sex Addiction, I will use a sex addiction severity assessment tool (SASAT). This is a valuable aid to help guide through and discover what the underlying issues are and help me devise a recovery plan for you that is not a standardised template, but tailored to each individuals feedback and to what your goals are.
With psychosexual therapy the first session, an initial assessment of what the underlying sexual dysfunction or dysfunctions are is where we begin. Within the assessment and the client counselling agreement, I provide further details on what psychosexual therapy entails, and from the feedback from the initial assessment provide guidance on timescales and what the demands are

Each session lasts 50 minutes.
